Anifest image 2- Temples of Doom.

Hi all, Here is the final version of the Image started at the Anifest demo 2 weeks ago. Going to be teaching these landscape techniques in the next project at UCA with the first years. This image was much fun to work on, all in all took about 6 or 7 hours, didn't want to over do it and kill all the energy from the original sketch, hope you like..

Drawing 173

Wow time is flying and my stack of drawings is piling up. I've been producing one sketch a day for 173 days so nearly half way. Working into alot of them in Photoshop at the mo, whilst getting my head round all that scanning.. few.. The finish is a little rough on this one but it's all about speed and idea generation rather than finished artwork, that can come later.

Deviant art Rift colossus competition entry

This is my entry for the latest Deviantart.com competition to create an end of level boss colossus. The brief was to make create a piece of concept art for the game Rift, based on one of the six planes. Posted last minute on Sunday, hoping to get a look in on the prizes, but the standard was really high. Check out other pieces recently posted here

Wish me luck

Finished Painting

This is as far as I want to go with this design. In this final pass, I chose a small soft brush and almost scribbled all over the armour to imply details etched into it. I make use of the liquify filter too to fully resolve areas of form I wasn't happy with. Hope this has been of interest. More tutorials to come soon. Maybe a landscape next.. This image will be in my book out at the end of the year.

Quick Character painting

This is the final painting, elaborating on one of my recent sets of character sketches. Being very prolific these days and taking many more sketches into final illustrations. This is two evenings work, in my eyes quick..

sketch no.55

no.55/365

As my year of drawing progresses, many ideas are finally making their way from where they've lurked for years, in the recesses of my imagination. I'm now beginning to consider the commonalities between the drawings and bringing themes together for final presentation at the end of the year.. Scary how close that seems.

365 sketches- a preview

no.19

 no.31

no.36

no.45

These four sketches are from a year long project I started in February, making a drawing every day indulging my compulsive need to draw. The ideas are eclectic and follow themes, forming sets of sketches, which are sparking ideas and new directions. These drawings will be published into a book come next February, watch this space for the next update... This project has already generated so much content for the book and forced me to take my imagination much further than normal.

Foghorn Leghorn

Sculpted for Designworks Windsor, this was part of a looney tunes toys range approximately 6cm tall. Foghorn was a joy to sculpt, I say, I say a joy..

zbrush creature progress

This character is starting to develop now, I want to add to his bag next, giving him an obvious scale, this is beginning to take shape as a story too. I think with a few more sessions in zbrush I'll upload a finished version and a set of drawings illustrating this little fellas life, keep an eye out.
